Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón is a Spanish politician, serving as the Prime Minister of Spain since June 2018. Born on 29 February 1972 in Madrid, he holds a Doctorate in Economics and is the General Secretary of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). Sánchez joined the PSOE in 1993 and has held various roles, including Member of the Congress of Deputies and City Councillor for Madrid. He gained prominence by forming Spain's first coalition government since the return of democracy, partnering with Unidas Podemos.
