Picklesburgh
EventAbout
Picklesburgh is an annual pickle-themed festival held in Downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Established in 2015, it celebrates the city's rich history of pickling, inspired by its cultural heritage and the presence of Heinz, a prominent pickle brand. The festival features a wide array of pickle-based foods, including pickle-flavored beers, cocktails, ice cream, and unique snacks like bacon-wrapped fried pickles and pickle egg rolls. It also showcases live music, children's activities, and pickle-themed merchandise. The festival's highlight is the pickle juice drinking competition, where contestants compete to down a quart of pickle juice the fastest. The winner is crowned the "Mayor of Picklesburgh." Picklesburgh has grown significantly, attracting over 200,000 attendees in recent years. It is organized by the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and sponsored by Kraft Heinz. Admission is free, making it accessible to all. The event's popularity has earned it recognition as one of the best specialty food festivals in the United States.
