Quantum Leap is a science fiction television series that originally aired from 1989 to 1993. It stars Scott Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett, a physicist who experiments with time travel through a device called the Quantum Leap accelerator. During the experiment, Sam's consciousness is transferred into the bodies of people from different time periods, allowing him to experience their lives firsthand. He is guided by a hologram of his friend, Rear Admiral Al Calavicci, who provides advice and helps Sam correct past events to potentially return home. The new series features Dr. Ben Song, who also leaps through time, guided by a hologram of his fiancée, Addison Augustine.
