Queen

Music band

Queen is a British rock band formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, and Roger Taylor. They were later joined by John Deacon in 1971, completing the classic lineup. The band's early work was influenced by progressive rock, hard rock, and heavy metal, but they evolved to incorporate more styles like arena rock and pop rock. Their first album, Queen, was released in 1973, but it was Queen II in 1974 that first charted in the UK. Their breakthrough came with Sheer Heart Attack (1974) and A Night at the Opera (1975), featuring "Bohemian Rhapsody," which topped the UK charts for nine weeks. Other iconic hits include "We Will Rock You," "We Are the Champions," and "Another One Bites the Dust." Queen's performance at Live Aid in 1985 is legendary. After Freddie Mercury's death in 1991 and John Deacon's retirement in 1997, Brian May and Roger Taylor continued performing with other vocalists. Queen is renowned for their theatrical live performances and has sold over 170 million records worldwide.
