Rich Landau is a renowned chef and co-owner of several notable restaurants, including Vedge, V Street, and Fancy Radish. He is a pioneer in modern plant-based dining, having opened his first restaurant, Horizons, in 1994. Landau's mission has been to transform vegetarian cuisine by appealing to a broader audience, leveraging his own carnivore upbringing to create innovative dishes. He has received numerous accolades, including being a six-time finalist for the James Beard Award and winning an episode of the Food Network's Chopped. Landau collaborates closely with his wife, Kate Jacoby, who is also a James Beard-nominated pastry chef and a certified sommelier. Together, they have authored several cookbooks and have been instrumental in shaping Philadelphia's culinary landscape. Their restaurant, Vedge, has been acclaimed nationally and internationally for its elevated plant-based dining experience. Landau and Jacoby are committed to using local, seasonal ingredients and bold global flavors in their creations. Outside of the kitchen, they enjoy traveling with their son, Rio, and exploring new food cultures.
