The Routeburn Track is a 32 km hiking route located in New Zealand's South Island, traversing through the stunning landscapes of Fiordland and Mount Aspiring National Parks. This track is renowned for its breathtaking alpine views, including majestic mountains, pristine lakes, and lush forests. It offers a diverse range of scenery, from the mossy beech forests to the rugged mountainous terrain around Harris Saddle, which is the track's highest point at approximately 1,300 meters. The track typically takes two to three days to complete, with accommodation available at several Department of Conservation huts along the way. These include Routeburn Flats Hut, Routeburn Falls Hut, and Lake Mackenzie Hut. The hike is considered moderate in difficulty and is suitable for hikers of various experience levels. It is part of New Zealand's Great Walks and requires advance booking during the peak season from late October to late April. The Routeburn Track is also accessible for day walks and offers connections to other trails like the Greenstone and Caples Tracks.
