Football clubAbout
Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro, founded in 1908, is a prominent Argentine football club known for its rich history and dedicated fan base. The club's origins are rooted in a group of children playing football in the streets of Buenos Aires, who were later offered a safer space by Father Lorenzo Massa. San Lorenzo is recognized as one of the "big five" in Argentine football, alongside Boca Juniors, Independiente, River Plate, and Racing Club. The team plays its home games at the Estadio Pedro Bidegain in Buenos Aires. San Lorenzo has achieved significant success, winning numerous national and international titles. They are the first Argentine club to win two league titles in the same year, capturing both the Metropolitano and Nacional championships in 1972. The club has also won the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, and Copa Mercosur. San Lorenzo's loyal fan base, often referred to as "Los Cuervos" (The Crows), has been a cornerstone of the club's identity and success throughout its history. Their historical rival is Huracán, adding another layer to their competitive spirit.
