Sandy Koufax is a legendary American baseball pitcher born on December 30, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York. He played for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers from 1955 to 1966. Koufax is renowned for his incredible achievements, including winning three Cy Young Awards, a feat he accomplished unanimously in 1963, 1965, and 1966. He also led the league in ERA five consecutive times and won the National League MVP in 1963. Koufax threw four no-hitters, including a perfect game in 1965, and led the Dodgers to World Series titles in 1963 and 1965. His career was marked by a 165–87 record, a 2.76 ERA, and 2,396 strikeouts. Despite retiring at 30 due to injuries, Koufax was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972.
