Serengeti National Park, located in northern Tanzania, is renowned for its expansive savannas and grasslands, covering approximately 14,763 square kilometers. Established in 1951, it is one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife reserves, hosting the Great Migration of over 1.5 million wildebeests, 250,000 zebras, and numerous gazelles. The park's diverse landscapes include open plains, hilly woodlands, and riverine forests, providing habitats for a wide range of wildlife. The Serengeti is also home to the largest lion population in Africa and features significant predator-prey interactions. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981, recognizing its unique ecosystem and biodiversity. The park supports over 500 bird species and numerous endangered animals like the black rhinoceros and cheetah.
