Serengeti National Park, located in northern Tanzania, is renowned for its vast savannah plains and spectacular wildlife. The park covers approximately 5,700 square miles and is part of a larger ecosystem that includes the Masai Mara in Kenya. It is famous for the Great Migration, where over two million wildebeest, along with hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, migrate annually in search of pasture and water. This event is one of the most impressive natural spectacles globally. The park offers diverse habitats, including grasslands, savannas, and woodlands, supporting a wide range of wildlife. It is home to the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—as well as numerous other species like giraffes, cheetahs, and hyenas. The Serengeti's biodiversity is exceptionally high, with over 500 bird species and many threatened animals. Its unique landscape, often described as "endless plains," provides a dramatic backdrop for wildlife viewing and hot air balloon safaris.
