About

Team Trees is a groundbreaking environmental initiative that leverages crowdfunding and social media to drive global reforestation efforts. Launched in October 2019 by YouTube creators Jimmy Donaldson (MrBeast) and Mark Rober, the campaign was initially aimed at planting 20 million trees to commemorate MrBeast's 20 million subscribers. The project quickly gained momentum, becoming the most successful crowdfunding effort in YouTube's history. It has attracted over 800,000 donors from more than 200 countries and territories, with notable contributions from tech leaders like Elon Musk and Marc Benioff. The campaign's success extends beyond its initial goal, having planted over 20 million trees across 30 countries and 11 U.S. states. Partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation, Team Trees focuses on strategic reforestation in areas affected by deforestation, wildfires, and other environmental challenges. The initiative not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also promotes collective action and youth leadership in addressing climate change. Through its impactful work, Team Trees has set a precedent for large-scale environmental movements driven by social media and community engagement.
