The Botanist

Spirit

About

The Botanist is a dry gin crafted by the Bruichladdich Distillery on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. It is distinguished by its use of 31 botanicals, including 22 hand-foraged from the island. These botanicals are combined with nine core gin botanicals to create a complex and layered flavor profile. The gin is distilled in a Lomond still known as "Ugly Betty," which allows for a slow and delicate extraction of flavors over a 17-hour process. The Botanist's unique flavor is influenced by the island's flora, such as apple mint, heather flowers, and gorse flowers. The gin is made with 100% wheat spirit and Islay spring water, ensuring a crisp and refreshing taste. It is a versatile spirit suitable for both classic gin cocktails and those seeking a more contemporary flavor experience. The Botanist has gained recognition for its innovative approach to gin production, showcasing the botanical heritage of Islay.
