The Palace on Wheels is India's first luxury tourist train, launched in 1982 by Indian Railways and the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation. It offers a 7-night, 8-day journey through Rajasthan and Agra, starting from New Delhi. The train covers iconic destinations like Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, and Agra, allowing passengers to experience the region's rich history and culture. Each of the train's 14 coaches is named after former Rajput states and features luxury amenities. The train includes two restaurants, a lounge bar, and a spa. Onboard services include cultural performances, laundry, and medical assistance. Passengers can enjoy a variety of cuisines, including Indian, Continental, and Chinese dishes.
