The Seychelles
CountryAbout
The Seychelles is an island nation located in the Indian Ocean, northeast of Madagascar. It comprises about 115 islands, with the majority being uninhabited. The country is known for its unique granitic islands, which are the only oceanic islands in the world formed from granite. These islands, part of the ancient supercontinent Gondwana, feature lush tropical vegetation and beautiful beaches. The capital, Victoria, is situated on the largest island, Mahé, which houses nearly a third of the population. Seychelles offers a diverse range of ecosystems, including granitic and coral islands. The granitic islands are home to a variety of flora and fauna, while the coral islands provide an underwater wonderland for snorkeling and diving. The country is renowned for its vibrant marine life and biodiversity, with numerous nature reserves and UNESCO World Heritage sites like the Aldabra Islands and Vallée de Mai National Park. Seychelles' tropical climate and stunning landscapes make it a popular destination for nature lovers and beach enthusiasts alike.
