It operated for nearly three decades, starting in 1995, and was a popular spot during baseball season due to its proximity to the stadium. The bar featured over 50 TVs, making it an ideal location for sports fans to catch their favorite games. Additionally, it was adorned with sports memorabilia, adding to its lively sports-themed atmosphere. The bar had a notable presence with its upstairs area and offered a variety of food options, though service quality varied. Despite its long-standing presence, The Sports Column faced challenges as Downtown Denver evolved, leading to its closure in September 2024. Its location at 1930 Blake Street is set to be repurposed, potentially becoming a new country-themed bar, reflecting the changing nightlife preferences in the area.
