Tom Love was a visionary entrepreneur born in October 1937 in Oklahoma City. He co-founded Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores with his wife Judy in 1964, starting with a modest investment of $5,000. Before establishing the business, Tom served in the U.S. Marine Corps and attended St. John's University and the University of Oklahoma. Under his leadership, Love's expanded from a single service station to a network of over 600 locations across the U.S., pioneering the concept of combining self-service gas stations with convenience stores. Tom Love was recognized for his business acumen and community leadership, receiving numerous honors, including induction into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 2000. He was known for his commitment to customer service and his emphasis on building strong relationships with employees and customers. Love's grew under his guidance to include various services like truck maintenance and logistics. Tom Love passed away in March 2023, leaving behind a legacy of business success and community involvement.
