Troy Aikman is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 12 seasons, primarily with the Dallas Cowboys. Born on November 21, 1966, in West Covina, California, Aikman was a three-sport athlete in high school, excelling in football, basketball, and baseball. He received a scholarship to play football at the University of Oklahoma, where he led the Sooners to a national championship in 1985. Aikman was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys with the first overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft. He went on to have a successful career with the Cowboys, leading the team to three Super Bowl victories (XXVII, XXVIII, and XXX) and earning six Pro Bowl selections. Aikman was known for his strong arm, accuracy, and leadership abilities, earning him the nickname "The Gunslinger." He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
