Wicked: For Good is the sequel to the 2024 film adaptation of the musical Wicked. Directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, it adapts the second act of the stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman. The story is set in the Land of Oz, both before and after Dorothy Gale's arrival from Kansas. It follows the evolving friendship between Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, as they navigate their new identities and confront the consequences of their actions, which will forever change Oz. The film features Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, reprising their roles from the first film. It expands on the characters' journeys and relationships, incorporating new songs and adapting sequences to better suit the film medium. The soundtrack includes iconic numbers like "No Good Deed" and "For Good," with new compositions for Elphaba and Glinda. Wicked: For Good is set to release on November 21, 2025, by Universal Pictures.
