Otto von Bismarck

Otto von Bismarck was a German statesman who dominated the politics of his country for nearly two decades, serving as the Prime Minister of Prussia and later as the Chancellor of the German Empire. Born on April 1, 1815, in Schönhausen, Prussia, Bismarck was the son of a Junker family and was raised in a conservative and nationalistic environment. He studied law and philosophy at the University of Göttingen, where he became interested in politics and joined the conservative student fraternity.
