The island's population is around 5,200 residents, primarily of African, European, and Asian descent. The economy is supported by the UK and focuses on tourism, fishing, and craft industries. Saint Helena's unique cultural heritage and natural beauty make it an attractive destination. The island aims to increase its economic activity through sustainable tourism and infrastructure development. It operates under a parliamentary democracy, with English as the official language and the Saint Helenian pound as its currency.
