About

"Se7en" is a gripping 1995 crime thriller directed by David Fincher. The film follows two detectives, William Somerset (Morgan Freeman) and David Mills (Brad Pitt), as they investigate a series of gruesome murders inspired by the seven deadly sins in a crime-ridden city. Somerset, nearing retirement, is paired with the idealistic Mills, who has just moved to the city with his wife, Tracy (Gwyneth Paltrow). The murders escalate in brutality, with each victim symbolizing a different sin: gluttony, greed, sloth, lust, pride, envy, and wrath. The investigation leads them to John Doe (Kevin Spacey), a serial killer who believes he is doing God's work by exposing societal indifference to sin. In a shocking climax, Doe surrenders, leading the detectives to a remote location where the final two victims are revealed. The twist involving Mills' wife is particularly chilling, as Doe's final act is to incite Mills to embody wrath, culminating in a tragic confrontation. The film's dark atmosphere and themes of moral decay create a haunting neo-noir experience, marked by its bleak cinematography and intense performances.
