The Great Barrier Reef, located off the coast of Queensland, Australia, is the world's largest coral reef system. It stretches over 2,300 kilometers and comprises more than 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands. This vast ecosystem supports an incredible array of marine life, including over 1,500 species of fish, 400 types of coral, and numerous other species such as mollusks, sponges, and anemones. The reef's biodiversity is unmatched, providing habitats for endangered species like the dugong and six species of sea turtles.
